Course of
Hot Stone Massage
In ancient times many populations and cultures put their
trust in stones, for medical reasons, for magic and for
cerimonies; to diagnose and cure illnesses and to reach
a higher level of spirituality. The idea that stones represented
the bones of Gaia, the great mother of Earth was widespread
and for these reasons possessed energy from the Earth.
The benefits of Stone Massage
The massage technique with stones has been carried out for
thousands of years by ayurvedic Indian medicine, by the
natives from America, by the ancient Sumeri, by the Japanese,
by the Greeks and by the Romans. The Hot Stone Massage neutralizes
negative energy in such a way as to balance the harmony
between body and mind. This treatment is, above all, indicated
in cases of muscular, rheumatic or articular pain; back
pain, stress, insonnia and depression. The beneficial effects
are many, both at a physical level and emotional one: it
relaxes tension of the muscles, it decreases the tension
of the spine, clears lymphatic deposits and therefore improves
liquid retention, improves the circulation of the arteries
and veins, it helps to unblock the metabolic changes, it
relaxes the soft tissue, levigates the skin, ceates heat,
provokes a sensation of wellbeing and mental relaxation.
It favours the increase of sensitivity towards people and
towards the world and contributes to have a greate awareness
of one's body.
